I’m moderating a panel on collaboration for Ghostly Knowledge Share

Last September, Ghostly International was celebrating a milestone. The independent record label had reached 20 years, and while there have been many accomplishments over those years, there was also a lot left to do. Like true thought-leaders, this celebration was going to be about how to evolve in today’s changing world.

I was the DJ, along with Clark Warner, for their event at The Regent. The event also featured harpist extraordinaire Mary Lattimore and jazz explorer Shigeto, along with Gold Panda and Geotic. Clark and I had DJ’d for Ghostly in their early years, and this felt like a return to form and a proper tip of the hat.

But what was even more exciting to me was moderating a panel for their relatively new initiative, Ghostly Knowledge Share. The idea was about not just showcasing the creative community but cultivating and nurturing it. As a label that has enjoyed a fair amount of recognition within the industry, this was a give-back.

So it gives me great pleasure to have the opportunity to moderate an upcoming Ghostly Knowledge Share, entitled Notes on Collaboration. This edition promises to lay the groundwork for navigating enriching collaborative experiences as an artist. This edition goes beyond sound to include vision. As fans and supporters, we often see how the fruits of collaboration can change our way of listening and understanding.

These artists have been making noteworthy waves in music and sound. I hope that you’ll join us as we not only navigate the idea of collaboration, but also collaborate on how to do it in today’s world.
